Ghana U-20 Striker Dominic Adiyiah Scoops Up Two Awards

The Norway-based striker was the top act of the FIFA Under-20 World Cup in Egypt.

Ghana striker Dominic Adiyiah, who emerged as the top scorer of the FIFA Under-20 World Cup in Egypt, has also been named as the competition’s best player.

Adiyiah scored his ninth goal of the tournament in sudden death of Ghana’s penalty shoot-out victory over Brazil in the final of this year’s competition at the Cairo International Stadium in Egypt on Friday.

The 19-year-old Fredrickstad of Norway striker was picked ahead of Brazilian players Alex Teixeira and Guilaino as the best player of the tournament.

Beaten finalists Brazil were awarded the fair play trophy, while Hungary defeated Costa Rica to finish as the third-best team of the competition.
