Valencia Midfielder David Silva Urges Team-Mate David Villa Not To Risk Fitness Against Barcelona
Valencia midfielder David Silva has urged David Villa not to take any unnecessary risks and to only play againstBarcelona if he is fully fit.
Los Che are already without Carlos Marchena, who picked up an injury while on international duty with Spain and Silva says it would be better to face the champions without ‘El Guaje’ if it is going to affect his recovery.
“If David Villa is okay he will play against Barca but if not it is better not to take a risk and end up being out for longer through injury,” he told Sport.
Silva says that even in the absence of La Liga’s top scorer Valencia have enough quality to defeat Barcelona.
“Any option is good because Nikola Zigic gave us victory in the last game against Racing Santander and Juan Mata is scoring goals with the team,” said Silva.
The 23-year-old also stated that the only thing the team are thinking about now is three points and he revealed there “was very little talk about the game” while on international duty with some of the Barcelona players.
