Real Madrid’s Gonzalo Higuain Proud To Represent Argentina

Higuain Gonzalo Higuain is set to start for Diego Maradona’s Argentina team against Peru tonight, and he admitted to the Argentine press that he cannot wait to make his full international debut.

The striker also said that there will be an added sense of pride when he pulls on the Albicelestes shirt, compared to the famous white shirt of Real Madrid.

“I am proud to be in both teams, who have excellent players,” Higuain told Ole.

“But in the national team, there is an extra buzz that Real Madrid doesn’t give you, which is to play in your colours – those of your country.

“To be able to defend them gives me enormous pride, so I want to grab this opportunity.”

Higuain concluded by saying that he is “very motivated” ahead of his debut, which he hopes is “the first game of many others” in his international career.
