Marchisio385_464459a Good news and bad news for the Old Lady. The player’s operation has gone well, but his recovery period is long.

Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio is out of the operating theatre and on the road to recovery, though he is expected to be missing for around 40 days.

The club have confirmed surgery to the midfielder’s damaged meniscus has been a success, but the downside is that he will miss several Serie A games, as well as the Champions League double header against Maccabi Haifa.

A statement on the club’s official website reads, “Marchisio: Surgery OK. Out for 40 days.

“Claudio Marchisio underwent surgery to the meniscus in his right knee this morning at the Clinica Fornaca. The operation was a perfect success and he will be out for 40 days.”

Marchisio was sent home from the Italy training camp at Coverciano on Thursday as the injury took its toll.
