Manuel Pellegrini Has To Rotate At Real Madrid – Jorge Valdano

Valdano has rubbished suggestions that the hierarchy at los Blancos are unhappy with their coach’s squad rotation policy.

Jorge Valdano has defended coach Manuel Pellegrini’s policy of squad rotation at Real Madrid and stated the board are delighted with the way that the season has begun.

Los Merengues’ director general answered critics who have suggested that president Florentino Perez wants to see a set starting team.

The claims were made after Madrid suffered their first defeat of the season on Sunday, when they were beaten by Sevilla, but Valdano has denied there are any problems.

“I think it’s natural that Pellegrini makes changes in the line-up in order to make his ideas more apparent to all his men,” he was quoted as saying by the club’s official website.

“He’s also been forced to make changes by injuries sustained by the team.

“We couldn’t be more satisfied about what has been achieved so far. The team has taken 15 of a possible 18 points in the league and has unquestionably won our two Champions League games.

“The team is working well. We must be competitive. Good play will follow that.”
