Carson Yeung Completes Takeover Of Birmingham City
Carson Yeung’s takeover of Birmingham City has been completed today.
The Hong Kong-based businessman’s company Grand Top International had raised their stake in the club last month, whilst Yeung was already the club’s leading shareholder.
Grand Top Holdings had announced that they had now acquired over 90% of the club’s shares, meaning that they could now purchase the remainder on a compulsory basis, according to BBC News.
The takeover brings to an end the era of David Sullivan, Ralph Gold and Karren Brady at St Andrew’s, though David Gold is expected to stay on as chairman.
