Barcelona Coach Guardiola Admits Room For Improvement After Almeria Win

Barcelona were far from convincing against Almeria, and Pep Guardiola knew there was still work to be done.

A first half strike from Pedro proved the difference in a game where Barca failed to hit their usual high notes. Speaking to Sport after the match, Guardiola said, “We tried to get Messi more involved.”

“If teams man mark us, we will find solutions. I know how it can be done.

“They created very little. We must beat Almeria and every other team.

“They are all prepared very well and have great coaches.”

Guardiola then went on to praise some individuals, continuing, “Pedro is a young player, and can still improve a lot.”

“He is playing more minutes, and continues to improve. He helps a lot, and has a good eye for goal.

“Sergio Busquets did not play badly, he played well tactically. Yaya Toure and Keita were brought on to add weight to the midfield.

“Iniesta said that he feels great and was happy to play in the midfield.”
