Not Even €10m Per Season Will Convince Antonio Cassano To Leave Sampdoria – Riccardo Garrone
Speculation in Genoa has linked ‘Il Talentino’ with moves to various clubs including Inter, and Samp’s bitter city rivals, Genoa. The Blucerchiati have always denied the claims, and Garrone has stepped in once again to quash the rumours.
“Cassano? He does not want to leave Sampdoria. Absolutely not. I hope the voices surrounding Genoa’s interest don’t materialise,” Garrone told the press.
“In fact, I don’t think Cassano would ever move there. Not even for a €10 million per season wage packet.”
The chief then hailed sporting director Giuseppe Marotta who is also reportedly wanted by other clubs, including Napoli, following Pierpaolo Marino’s exit.
“Marotta is Sampdoria. He is fine here and is happy to obtain results here with us. I don’t think he would prefer to go to a big team to work under many people. Here, he just has to respond to me,” concluded Garrone.
