Carles Puyol: Barcelona Not Great Against Dynamo Kiev
The Blaugrana captain has recognised that his side were not firing on all cylinders.
Carles Puyol has admitted that Barcelona were not at their best against a stubborn Dynamo Kiev side on Tuesday evening but feels that it only proves how tough their group is.
While Inter were held by Rubin Kazan, the Blaugrana made hard work of breaking down and containing their Ukrainian guests in a game many felt would be comfortable.
Lionel Messi and substitute Pedro scored in either half to give the home side victory in Camp Nou and Puyol was pleased with the result.
“The whole team played well, but it was a difficult match and we did not produce our best football,” he was quoted as saying by the club’s official website.
“We earned three very important points because we knew they were very strong defensively and that they would look for the counter-attack.
“The other result in the group shows that all the opponents are difficult.”
