We Dedicate The Victory To Andrea Della Valle – Fiorentina Coach Prandelli

Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli was clearly satisfied after his side beat Livorno 1-0 in the Tuscan derby.

It was his 100th win with the Viola, and the first without president Andrea Della Valle, who recently resigned.

“We talked before the game, we dedicate this victory to him because we know he is going through a difficult moment, but we know he won’t abandon us and he’ll come back soon,” he said to Sky Sport.

“He said it’s a moment of reflection, but I don’t think he really intends to leave.”

Asked whether he tried to play the 4-4-2 system because of Alberto Gilardino’s absence in the upcoming match against Liverpool, the coach said: “Yes, that was the reason. Today we played well on a difficult ground, Livorno were coming off some defeats and were very aggressive.

“[Adrian] Mutu played very well for an hour, I liked him. He’s a player we need to recover completely.”

On the match against Liverpool: “We know there are teams superior to us technically, but we want to make up for that with our qualities, great determination and desire. We don’t start off beaten, we want to play our cards.”
