We Will Abide By The Law – Laporta
Barcelona club president Joan Laporta has said that the Catalan club will abide by any law that requires them to compensate Samuel Eto’o following his transfer to Inter, but he believes that they do not owe Eto’o 15 per cent of the transfer fee.
“In an international transfer we believe that 15 per cent is not correct,” Laporta told Canal+ after Barcelona’s 4-1 win over Racing Santander.
“We will listen to our legal advice and decide and if so we will, as always, abide by the law.”
Eto’o believes he is entitled to €3 million from the deal that saw Zlatan Ibrahimovic head in the opposite direction, but Barca maintain that such a stipulation relates to transfers between Spanish clubs only.
