Man United Keeping Tabs On Napoli Star Hamsik
A Red Devils scout was spotted at the Stadio San Paolo yesterday to monitor the progress of ‘Marechiaro’.
Premier League powerhouse Manchester United could launch a mega-bid for Napoli star midfielder Marek Hamsiknext summer after a scout for the Old Trafford outfit was spotted in the San Paolo stands yesterday, according to a report in Naples daily Il Mattino.
The Azzurri played out a goalless draw against Udinese, but there is no doubt that a positive report will be delivered to Sir Alex Ferguson’s desk, as Hamsik was a constant threat for the Azzurri, even though he failed to reach the heights of the opening three games of the season, having netted in every single one of them.
It’s no mystery that the 22-year-old has been on United’s radar since his time at Serie B side Brescia, who eventually sold him to Napoli for €5.5 million in the summer of 2007, and Ferguson could knock on president Aurelio De Laurentiis’ door next year.
Meanwhile, Hamsik’s renowned goal celebrations where he strokes his spiked hair could soon be reviewed…
“His is a Mohican style,” his hairdresser explained to La Gazzetta dello Sport this week.
“Before the Genoa game he came in for a trim and scored a goal. He wanted to shave his head in July, but his girlfriend was against it and he reconsidered. But he will change his look very soon…”
