Siena Fans To Pay Fine For Daniele De Rossi Insults

The Lega Calcio Disciplinary Commission hit Serie A club Siena with a €10,000 fine yesterday, after a section of the pitch hurled abuse at Roma and Italy midfielder Daniele De Rossi during Sunday’s hot-tempered match.

The chants were targeted at De Rossi’s father-in-law who was murdered in a shooting last summer, and the Tuscan supporters have now accepted responsibility for their actions.
“The Curva Robur has decided to impose self-taxation so that the club will not have to pay for our own actions,” reads a note from the supporters’ group.

“We have always been free to express our thoughts on the actions of everyone and we do not have nor want debts, not even moral ones.”

The supporters are expected to raise funds prior to Siena’s upcoming home games at the Franchi.
