Luciano Moggi: Juventus Are Not Good Enough To Win The Champions League

The Calciopoli culprit gave his views on ‘the Tinkerman’ and also the Bianconeri’s European and Scudetto credentials.

Former Juventus sporting director, Luciano Moggi, has commented on Roma’s decision to replace Luciano Spalletti with Claudio Ranieri as coach, claiming he expects the former Chelsea boss to steady the ship.

“I’m not sure if Ranieri is the ideal man for Roma,” he told Radio Incontro.

“He is a man that adds a little more consistency, and as a coach is very discreet.”

Meanwhile, he commented on Juventus’ 1-1 draw with Bordeaux at the Stadio Olimpico, a match he believes indicates that the Bianconeri are not capable of winning the continental trophy.

“I saw the match. They are a team of great players, but not one that can win big things at the European level,” he continued.

“In Italy it’s different. It is a lower level. They won a few games, even with a little luck, and are now leading the championship. For the Scudetto, Juve have approached Inter, but the Nerazzurri are still stronger.”
