OFFICIAL: Naldo Signs New Werder Bremen Deal

Brazilian defender Naldo has committed his future to Bundesliga side Werder Bremen by signing a new four-year deal at the Bremen outfit.

The 27-year-old’s previous contract was due to expire in the summer of 2012, but several big clubs were keen to lure him away from Werder, prompting the German outfit to open negotiations over a new contract.

All parties involved have stated their happiness with the defender’s decision to stay at the club.
“We are happy to keep Naldo an additional year with Werder Bremen. He is an important pillar in our game and has developed into one of the best defenders in the league,” manager Klaus Allofs told the club’s website.

“It’s nice that Naldo made this choice. He has really developed well over the years and it’s fun working with him. And we are happy that we will continue on our way with him,” head coach Thomas Schaaf was quoted as saying.

“Things are going very well for me with Werder. The entire atmosphere made this decision easy. In addition, my family and I really feel very welcome in Bremen,” Naldo said.
