Barcelona Ask Pep Guardiola To Name His Terms

guardiola Barcelona have told Pep Guardiola to write out the contract that he wants in order to ensure the coach remains at the club, according to a report in El Mundo Deportivo.

The Blaugrana board have tried and failed to tempt the treble-winning boss to put pen-to-paper on an extension to his current deal and will now leave it in is hands.

Barca have reportedly told Guardiola to name his price and all of his conditions, effectively putting a blank contract in front of him and asking him to fill it in.

Guardiola’s first season in charge saw him guide the club to the title, the Copa del Rey and the Champions League, and that has bought him the complete respect of everyone at the club.

His demands over the summer were all met as Samuel Eto’o was swapped for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, a deal he wanted 12 months ago, while a new left-back and central defender were brought in.

The coach’s resistance to extending his deal comes from his desire for freedom, but also because he does not want to become an expensive burden on the club should his success cease.
