Inter Face Nervous Wait After Wesley Sneijder Sustains Injury On International Duty

W Sneijder

The Nerazzurri are paying close attention to the condition of their newest arrival.

After playing a central role in The Netherlands convincing 3-0 demolition of Japan, Wesley Sneijder looks set for an anxious wait as he undergoes scans to discover the severity of an ankle injury which forced him to leave the field on a stretcher.

Following his impressive debut in last weekend’s Derby della Madonnina, the Inter no.10 looks certain to be out of action for next weekend’s clash with Parma.

However, with the former Real Madrid player heading straight to hospital following Saturday’s friendly, it looks as if Jose Mourinho will have to sit tight and cross his fingers before he can discover whether the Dutchman will be back in time for the Champions League clash with Barcelona three days later.

After having waited patiently throughout the transfer market for the arrival of the fantasista, it seems Inter may have been handed a cruel blow, just days before they look to begin another European journey.
