I Am Not Quitting Football Any Time Soon – Fiorentina Ace Adrian Mutu

FBL-EUR-C3-FIORENTINA-AJAX The Romanian striker has declared that he intends to carry on playing the game he loves for some time yet.

Il Corriere dello Sport reported yesterday that Adrian Mutu was attempting to come to an agreement with Chelsea over the €17m that he apparently owes the English club.

The Romanian has now insisted that he intends to carry on playing for several years to come, which may suggest that Chelsea are receptive to the idea of receiving the profits from a stellar football tournament as compensation instead of forcing the player to find the enormous sum of money himself.

“My intention is definitely not to leave Fiorentina, I will play football for another 5-6 years,” the 30-year-old is quoted as saying by Firenzeviola.it.

“I hope to finish my career with Dinamo Bucharest,” he added.

Mutu scored 22 goals in 33 league games for Dinamo in 1999/2000 before leaving his homeland for Inter, and he clearly believes that he has unfinished business in the Romanian capital.

Mutu is currently recovering from a thigh injury, which caused him to withdraw from the Romanian national squad this week.
