Marco Branca: Inter Are Now A Perfect Machine

Inter technical director Marco Branca has admitted his pleasure at the job he did during the summer transfer window for coach Jose Mourinho but believes president Massimo Moratti deserves a great deal of credit too.

The Italian champions parted company with Swedish superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but brought in a host of new faces, finishing their recruitment drive with a flourish by snapping up Dutch international midfielder Wesley Sneijder from Real Madrid.
But a modest Branca feels Moratti deserves the most credit for a superb summer transfer campaign.

“Credit must be shared with the Inter machine, which is now practically perfect,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Moratti is the biggest guarantee for the fans. If something can be done, he will never step back. And he is also a precious help to me from a technical point of view: he is a real connoisseur.

“We have built an Inter that has more weapons compared to the past. As for the future, we will most likely search for a couple of promising defenders.”

But speculation is rife in the peninsula that the San Siro giants will hand a lifeline to troubled striker Goran Pandev during the winter session of the Calciomercato, as the Macedonian has been frozen out of the Lazio team over a contract dispute.

“We’ll see, we will probably talk about it with [Lazio president Claudio] Lotito,” explained Branca.

“Inter and Lazio have an excellent rapport and it will stay this way.”
