OFFICIAL: Feyenoord Sign Stefan Babovic On Loan From Nantes

74436648JM034_Czech_RepubliDutch powerhouse Feyenoord have announced the capture of Serbian midfielder Stefan Babovic from Nantes on their official website. The 22-year-old signed a season-long loan deal on Tuesday.

Babovic had lost his spot in the starting XI at the French side and was keen to move on in order to get regular first team football again, keeping his chances of representing Serbia at the 2010 World Cup alive.

Feyenoord coach Mario Been expressed his delight with the arrival of the former Partizan star.

“His technical skills are outstanding and he knows how to find the net,” Been was quoted as saying on the official Feyenoord website. “Additionally, he has a superb left foot and we don’t have too many left footed players in our squad. Stefan really wanted to join us and I’m glad that we succeeded in signing him.”

Feyenoord have the option to make the move a permanent one at the end of this campaign.
