Terry A Blue For Life

john-terry-chelsea-v-wigan_1932373John Terry has committed the rest of his career to Chelsea by signing a new five-year contract.

The Blues skipper, 28, was linked with a move to big-spending Manchester City earlier this summer.

But the England captain insisted leaving Stamford Bridge never crossed his mind — despite City offering to make him the highest-paid player in the world.

And Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich quickly moved to repay centre-back Terry’s loyalty by sanctioning club-record wages of around £155,000-a-week.

A short statement on Chelsea’s official website said: “We are delighted to confirm that John has signed a new five-year contract, keeping him at the club until the end of the 2013-14 season.

“This reaffirms both John’s and Chelsea’s long stated desire for him to be at Stamford Bridge for the rest of his playing career.”
