OFFICIAL: Hull City Sign Paul McShane

The Republic of Ireland defender has signed for the Tigers today.

Hull City have signed centre-back Paul McShane fromSunderland, with the club’s official website confirming that the Irishman has signed a four-year contract at the KC Stadium.

The fee remains undisclosed, although
Sky Sports is indicating that the Tigers have paid somewhere in the region of £2million for the centre-back, who played 19 games on loan in East Yorkshire in the first half of last season before returning to Sunderland.

City manager Phil Brown was keen to do a deal to bring the player to the KC Stadium in January, though no move materialised, as Sunderland were themselves in something of a crisis at the time.

Hull supporters may have to wait several weeks to see the player back in amber and black, though, as a knee operation he underwent in the summer could keep him out until early October, although he is reportedly ahead of schedule in his rehabilitation.
