Liverpool’s Champions League Games Will Be Difficult – Rafael Benitez

Rafa_BenitezLiverpool manager Rafael Benitez has proclaimed that the Reds’ Champions League fixtures will be as difficult as they have always been for the Merseyside club.

“It will be difficult as always,” ‘Rafa’ is quoted on the club’s official website as saying.

“[Olympique Lyonnais] are a very good team with plenty of experience, good players and a lot of quality, so they will be difficult.

“Fiorentina are an Italian team who also have good players, are very good tactically and will be tough.

“Debrecen are a new team with less experience, but they won the Hungarian league and we know they are a good team. Hopefully we can perform well, but still you have to play each game and see what happens.”

However, the manager maintained that he hopes his side will be on top of the group after six games.

“We have experience in the Champions League,” he said.

“The players are happy and they enjoy the experience of international football, so that is good.

“But, again, these are three new clubs who we have never played against. It will be a good experience for the fans and hopefully we can play at the same level we have done in recent years.”
