OFFICIAL: Stoke City Sign Tuncay Sanli

Stoke City have finalised the signing of Turkish international Tuncay Sanli from Championship side Middlesbrough in a £5 million deal, which may rise to £6m depending on performance.

Tuncay becomes the second ‘Boro player to sign on at the Britannia Stadium after it was confirmed that German centre-back Robert Huth had completed a move yesterday.

With 68 caps for Turkey, the former Fenerbahce ace brings a wealth of experience to Tony Pulis’ side, and the Potters boss is delighted with the double swoop for the pair.

“Tuncay is an exciting player with his pace and skill, who will certainly get the crowd going,” the 51-year-old told Stoke’s official website.

“He is also a player of international calibre and a leader of his national team.

“Robert Huth has a great presence about him.

“He’s a big, strong defender and the fact that he has played nearly 20 times for Germany is some recommendation in my book. He’s one you know you can lean on.”

The Potters are still awaiting confirmation from FA and Premier League officials as to whether Tuncay and Huth are eligible for Saturday’s Premier League clash with Sunderland.
