OFFICIAL: Bari Sign Massimo Donati From Celtic

Massimo Donati Bari have bolstered their squad by adding Celtic midfielder Massimo Donati, the club announced on their official website, asbari.it.

The 28-year-old has signed a four-year contract with the promoted club and will join his team-mates on Monday, after this weekend’s match against Bologna at the Stadio San Nicola.

The player moved to Milan in 2001 from Atalanta, but spent several seasons out on loan, as he was unable to break into the first team, featuring for Parma, Torino, Sampdoria and Messina before securing a permanent transfer to the Hoops in 2007.

He fell out of favour with coach Gordon Strachan last season, but had a bright start to the 2009-10 campaign under new coach Tony Mowbray before being transferred to the southern Italian outfit. The player had often spoken of his desire to return to Serie A during the transfer window.

Bari also recently signed midfielders Sergio Almiron and Yago Falque in loan deals from Juventus.
