Miguel Torres To Swap Real Madrid For Atletico Madrid

Reports from Spain are suggesting that Atletico Madrid coach Abel Resino will strengthen his squad with the signing of Miguel Torres from rivals Real Madrid.

Radio Marca claims that Torres, who can play at either right or left full-back, has agreed to leave the club for Atletico as part of president Florentino Perez’s ‘Operacion Salida‘.

Los Colchoneros are currently in the transfer market for a full-back, and are thought to be mulling over the option of purchasing the 23-year-old.

Torres has spent his entire career so far with Real Madrid, and has also made 12 appearances for the Spanish Under-21 side. While he is not first team material, the full-back would have been hopeful of increased opportunities after the departures of Gabriel Heinze and Michel Salgado this summer.

However, the equally versatile Alvaro Arbeloa has also arrived at the club from Liverpool, and Torres is now preparing to follow Arjen Robben and Wesley Sneijder out the exit door.
