Wesley Sneijder Rejects Inter Move

The move once again seems to be in limbo, as the transfer saga continues.

Despite reports suggesting that Real Madrid star Wesley Sneijder was on the verge of completing a move to Inter, the website of Spanish newspaper Marca has now claimed the Dutchman has changed his mind.

The press claimed that the former Ajax star had taken a trip to Milan to conclude the deal, but Marca insists the player later decided not to board the plane to Malpensa airport and would rather fight for his place in Madrid, which looks very insecure under coach Manuel Pellegrini.

The club have stripped the player of his number 10 shirt, as it was seen on Lassana Diarra in the Trofeo Santiago Bernabeu victory over Rosenborg yesterday.

The two clubs have agreed a price-tag of €15 million, but wages also seem to be a stumbling block between the Nerazzurri and the 25-year-old.

Without regular football, Sneijder risks missing out on the World Cup next summer. He joined los Blancos in 2007 and has made over 50 appearances in the league since that time, but is seemingly surplus to requirements with the arrivals of Kaka, Xabi Alonso, and Cristiano Ronaldo in midfield.
