Fergie Eyes 100 Goals

Alex Ferguson has given his Manchester United team a target of 100 goals to be successful next season.

And he has called on the midfield and defence to start weighing in with their fair share to help fill the void left by Cristiano Ronaldo.

Premier League champions United hit 99 goals in all competitions last season.

Ronaldo hit 26 of those and Fergie said: “If we’re going to win the league again or do well in Europe, we need players to step up.

“You look to score about 100 goals in all competitions. We’ll aim for that again.”

Ferguson, speaking to Inside United magazine, added: “Wayne Rooney’s capable of scoring 18 or more a season and Michael Owen can get us 15 goals.”
